Lewis Hamilton is one of those world champions that, despite his success, will never really win over a large majority of the general public.
Some say it’s OK to hate him (a full analysis of the reasons one might HERE), although others maintain a life lived in the spotlight places unfair pressures on a young man such as himself.
Whichever way you look at it Lewis should know better than to have a dig at Michael Schumacher, no matter how subtle he thinks he is being. That clip above has led to the head of Michael Schumacher’s fan club lashing out at Hamilton, with this below from Autoweek:
Hamilton may have been referring to divided opinions about Schumacher’s wheel-to-wheel tactics, or rumours of favouritism within Ferrari and tire supplier Bridgestone.
But considering the sad situation now endured by the beleaguered Schumacher and his family, Reiner Ferling said, “Hamilton should probably switch on his brain before he talks.
“He should learn about what Michael achieved. I just say, pride comes before a fall,” added Ferling, president of the fan club in Schumacher’s hometown of Kerpen.
For those who haven’t been keeping count Hamilton’s latest world championship title was his third, meaning he still has some way to go before catching Schumi on seven.
I’d advise shutting your gob for the time being Lewis, now is not the time for digs at the German’s expense.
