Here’s a video that should make a few East London ambulance drivers pretty ashamed of their behaviour, these two vehicles above driving like maniacs in order to be the first to arrive on the scene.
If you’re thinking they should be commended for their eagerness to assist those in need you might want to consider the following, this below from News24:
The private ambulance industry in South Africa is lucrative, with the providers’ profit determined by how many patients are transported to hospital.
Ah yes, of course there was money involved. The two crews involved were the Dynamic EMS ambulance, leading the way out in front, and the ambulance crews from Maponya 911 filming from behind. A spokesperson for Dynamic has said that the driver in question was suspended, with Maponya 911 refusing to comment.
Come on guys you’re not tow-truck drivers – you’re on the road to save lives, not endanger them by driving like a couple of fools.
