In the UK, one particular restaurant has been voted the most popular for first dates. And you wouldn’t guess that it’s Nando’s.
Analysing data from 500 000 UK users, mobile dating app Clover (there’s another one?!?! Kidding) saw that Nando’s won by a landslide.
The reason? Although it is a fast-food chain, it is a step up from the others because, wait for it, it offers real plates and real cutlery. They also “do romantic food” such as sharing platters and jugs of Sangria – and have added an up-market steak option on their menu.
However, there is no table service. While this is largely popular with the men, women much prefer a romantic coffee shop:
Luckily, down in the South we have waaaaay better options for first dates – but it also raises the question: Why doesn’t Nando’s serve Sangria?
