Shaun Pollock may have given ginger kids street cred here at home but Prince Harry is going global with his furry face ensemble.
First he arrived at the White House without all the fanfare of the usual royal arrival, the 31-year-old arriving on foot. Harry is in town to promote the 2016 US Invictus Games, a competition aimed at raising funds and awareness for wounded servicemen.
Here’s Harry strolling towards the White House sans motor cavalcade:
He then sat down for his first meeting with President Barack Obama, who had some lovely things to say about the ginger ninja:
The president went out of his way to thank the prince for his own military service….
‘We want to thank His Royal Highness for his own service in Afghanistan alongside our outstanding American troops,’ he said.
‘It is a testament to the special relationship, the incredible bond that we share between our two countries. And that bond continues into the next generation of leadership that His Royal Highness represents’.
Harry had earlier attended a wheelchair basketball game with Michelle Obama, the first lady cracking a joke or two;
Addressing a crowd of servicemen and their families Mrs Obama called the Prince a “real guy” and added: “Alright ladies, Prince Harry is here. Don’t pretend you didn’t notice.”
Easy there Michelle, you’re looking way too stoked to be holding that orange ball…
Check out Harry getting his hug on after meeting a wounded war veteran:
He’s a good egg that Harry, and I’m sure millions of gingers around the world agree.
