Jacob Zuma and other top ANC officials are no strangers to a crisis. Marikana, Nkandla, al-Bashir and the Guptas, the list goes on and it seems like with every passing shitstorm we become more resigned to governmental ineptitude.
But the last few days have raised some serious questions about the level of distrust amongst our disillusioned youth towards the ruling party. Hashtags have dominated the news and we may be seeing a real shift in the mindset of young voters, summed up by #ANCMustFall.
As protesters made their way across the bridge and over to Luthuli House yesterday the anti-ANC rhetoric on social media began to grow. Jacob Zuma will address students and university officials at the Union Buildings later today, but has his slow response already done irreparable damage?
