During a ZombiCon in Florida, a deadly shooting took place and the police are still looking for the suspect. In an effort to track down the killer of one, cell phone footage of the incident was released. Five other were injured in the incident, which occurred outdoors on the street.
The suspect, who has been described as either a white or possibly Hispanic male in his late teens or early twenties, was wearing a black T-shirt and baseball cap and was firing a semi-automatic handgun. Check around the 1:16 mark and you’ll see what looks like the weapon in question.
The problem? Many attendees were carrying replica’s of weapons during the event. ZombiCon is an annual event that raises donations for charities. The mayor of Fort Mysers, the town the event is held in, released a statement detailing the victim’s name and the plan forward:
While traveling out of the state to a family event I have learned of the tragic shooting downtown and the death of Mr. Expavious Tyrell Taylor, and others injured with non life threatening wounds. On behalf of myself and Council I want to express profound sadness and condolences to the family Mr. Taylor. We pray for all involved in this senseless act of violence. I want to reaffirm our commitment to reign in these criminals and assure all citizens of law enforcement’s relentless pursuit of the perpetrators. With the aid of alert citizens and cameras we remain confident in capturing and bringing to justice, those who have attacked our citizens.
At only 20 years of age, Expavious was pronounced dead at the scene late Saturday night.
