There is plenty of speculation surrounding just what Brendan Ficks was up to this weekend, the Good Hope FM station manager going missing on Thursday and returning on Sunday in a shroud of mystery.
Family and friends had earlier rallied support online, Facebook and Twitter users coming together in an effort to try and find Ficks. News24 reports:
The good news is that he is home. He arrived at the home this morning [Sunday]. Everyone is grateful,” Ficks’s friend Arend Visagie told News24.
Visagie was not aware of why Ficks had supposedly disappeared since Thursday, but Ficks told him he would release a statement later…
Visagie told News24 earlier that Ficks left his workplace at the SABC on Thursday evening, and did not arrive at home.
“Normally two things happen. He goes to gym or he goes home, where he lives with his parents. And given the age of his parents, he is always in contact with them, or his sister,” he said before Ficks had returned home.
“He had nothing in his calender. He is the type of person to always let people know where he is going. Nothing like has ever happened with him.”
The family were so worried they had even reported the issue to police on Saturday. I could name a few good reasons someone might go missing over a weekend but let’s wait for this statement before we get creative with our thinking.
