If you want to see kids lose their minds there’s two sure things – the dreaded Pick ‘n Pay Stikeez and the sound of an ice-cream truck rolling past with that jingle playing from the speakers.
But, we ask, why should the kiddies have all the fun? What if there was a frozen yoghurt we could all enjoy, still feeling smug about eating healthy whilst tucking into a tasty treat…would be nice hey?
Say hello to Cape Town’s first frozen yoghurt food truck, the funkiest thing on four wheels. Established in 2014 and associated with Cape Town Food Trucks, FrozenYO is here to serve frozen delights to the people of Cape Town. Their turquoise and yellow frozen yoghurt bar is parked out on the Blouberg Beachfront – perfect for runners, skaters, cyclists and families driving through the area looking for a refreshing fix.
Kick back, relax on their nifty chairs and listen to your favourite beachside tunes. Keen to share a photo of your food across various social platforms (yes, you, we know you can’t help yoursef)? Surf the web with their free Wi-Fi service, you don’t even have to chow your own data.
The thing that sets their product apart is that FrozenYo is made from the finest imported frozen yoghurt product from Italy. FrozenYo is low in calories, gluten free and uses 2% low fat milk. FrozenYO also uses real yoghurt that contains live cultures & probiotics, offering the same cold satisfaction of ice cream, without the guilt.
If you’re anything like me you’re rather fond of lathering your treats in more treats, which is why the selection of toppings on offer will create quite the conundrum. You could adopt my approach, lots of everything and be liberal with the application, or you could pick and choose. Your treats your rules and all that ya know…
But of course the joy about having your meals on wheels is that these guys can go anywhere, meaning if you ask nicely enough they might be popping up in your neck of the woods some time soon. The best way to find out where they’ll be is to give them a follow on Twitter or Facebook, then check their Instagram account for some killer pics.
You can even book the truck for a birthday, wedding or private event – something that will make you popular with parents and kiddies alike.
Check out the FrozenYO site and get better acquainted, we’ll be seeing plenty more of them around this lekker city of ours.
