Cha-ching, life is pretty good for this 26-year-old after he bagged himself a monster £13,213,838.68 (R270 million) win from a 25p (R5) bet.
Jon Heywood, a soldier who has served in Afghanistan, wasn’t able to immediately shout from the rooftops after winning the bet on online site Betway. The Telegraph with more:
He won the huge prize when playing Microgaming’s Mega Moolah game lon October 6, but had to keep the win quiet for three days and even went to work the following day.
I’d be hard pressed to keep up the façade of professionalism, anyone so much as looks at me funny and I’m storming out with a grin on my face. So the inevitable question then, what’s he going to do with all that money?
He said: “I couldn’t believe that I’d won all this money at the time – and it still hasn’t sunk in.
“It’s amazing. The first thing I will spend it on is the best possible medical treatment for my dad. That’s more important than anything. Family comes first and I’d give all this money back for him to be healthy again.”
Mr Heywood also plans to pay for his relatives to go on a Mediterranean cruise.
“I’m trying not to get carried away and I really don’t know what else I’m going to buy with the money, apart from a yellow Bentley Continental GT,” he added.
“I never even dreamed of driving a Bentley, let alone owning one. I’ve got a Fiat Punto at the moment.”
Let’s all take a moment to fantasise about what we would do with R270 million.
Done? Then take a moment and go about trying to make it happen. Tomorrow’s US Mega Millions happens to be sitting at $75 million (just the R1 billion), and if you feel like luck is on your side then get your tickets HERE.
And please can we agree on the fact that if you win that billion you’re not going in to work the next day, it just isn’t on.
