We know that Jacob and reading out large numbers is a disaster waiting to happen, but surely he has been practising behind the scenes right?
Well if his latest attempt at the ANC’s National General Council is anything to go by, then no, he must be devoting his attention elsewhere. During the Council, where Zuma also announced he won’t be seeking a third term as ANC president, he was forced to tackle one of his worst nightmares and the results were predictable. Here’s eNCA:
…Zuma decried the decline of ANC membership which he’s estimated has decreased by about 20 percent.
But during his closing speech on Sunday night at Midrand, it seems he also fumbled the numbers and failed to be clear over just what the numbers were – which had nothing to do with the numbers written on his speech papers.
May we suggest that the speech writers earn their keep and spell out the numbers? You know, like two-hundred-and-forty-six-million-rand, there’s a number that he shouldn’t forget very easily.
