The Republican candidate race just seems so much more entertaining than the Democrat race, Hillary Clinton seemingly having that all wrapped up despite Bernie Sanders’ best efforts.

Now Trump is obviously the headline grabber, but the last few days a certain Ben Carson has been giving him a run for his money. We showed you Trevor Noah mocking him yesterday for his idiotic statements on the Oregon campus shooting, but Carson isn’t done digging that hole just yet.

Just so we’re on the same page here Carson basically blamed the students for not charging the shooter and letting themselves be shot, also saying that more guns in classrooms are the answer. Then yesterday he dropped some zingers on the Holocaust with this from Newser:

“I think the likelihood of Hitler being able to accomplish his goals would have been greatly diminished if the people had been armed,” he said. “I’m telling you there is a reason these dictatorial people take the guns first.”

Then there’s this, taken from his book A Perfect Union:

“Through a combination of removing guns and disseminating propaganda, the Nazis were able to carry out their evil intentions with relatively little resistance.”

Don’t let history or fact spoil your fun Ben, although the Anti-Defamation League were having none of it:

“Ben Carson has a right to his views on gun control, but the notion that Hitler’s gun-control policy contributed to the Holocaust is historically inaccurate,” says the organization’s [sic] national director. “The small number of personal firearms available to Germany’s Jews in 1938 could in no way have stopped the totalitarian power of the Nazi German state.”

A word to the wise Ben, if you keep on digging that hole you might just pop out in China some time soon where you can leave your troubles behind.
