This Is Why You Shouldn’t Instagram Pictures Of Your Boarding Pass

You may be amped to share with the world that you're on your way to adventure, but there are somethings not worth sharing.

You know that barcode strip on your boarding pass? Well, apparently it contains A LOT of information that actually pretty easily decipherable. And could put you in quite a bit of danger.

This is all according to tech security guru Brian Krebs who made a blog post about the plane site of your information.

The data, in addition to the flyer’s first and last name, also includes the traveler’s origin and destination airports and frequent flyer number – and all it takes for an enterprising thief to access it is a quick visit to a free online barcode reader.

The frequent flyer number can then be used to access your account and alter your travel itinerary. Gosh, just imagine the chaos.

Also, while we’re at it, you really shouldn’t post images of your banks cards either. Really now.
