Oh Fikile, it seems humility is a virtue that escapes you.
Some people love our dear sports minister for his forthrightness, his Twitter rants quickly becoming the stuff of legends. Others, however, see his tweets as bucking the trend of what one expects from a public political figure, including those over at the Washington Post:
Politicians aren’t known for their realness, at least in the United States. But things must work differently in South Africa because Fikile Mbalula, the country’s minister of sport and recreation, left nothing on the table when it came to expressing his glee on Twitter over the Springboks 64-0 shutout of the United States during their Rugby World Cup match on Wednesday…
Now, I know exactly what you’re thinking: “This can’t be real.” But then you don’t know Mbalula. The man tells it like it is, whether he’s online or not, especially when it comes to rugby.
Let’s look at what Fikile was up to before, during and after last night’s humbling of the USA Eagles:

We’ll give him props, some of those jibes are pretty decent and it’s all in good humour. Here’s hoping we don’t end up with egg on our faces with a testing quarter-final coming up – not to mention a possible semi-final that would more than likely be against the might of the All Blacks.
