SA’s Elon Musk Breaks Silence On Volkswagen Scandal

As the stink around Volkswagen and their emissions scandal deepens Elon Musk has waded in with his views. He has a personal interest too.

Yes we’ll still claim him even though he buggered off and said some nasty things about our schools, never be too harsh on a man worth billions unless that man is Donald Trump.

Now Volkswagen are currently dealing with a particularly horrid scandal that has left their reputation in tatters, Elon using the chance to drum up the credentials of Tesla. That would be the electric car company that Musk owns by the way, meaning he must be loving VW’s misfortunes. Here’s Huffington Post:

“What Volkswagen is really showing is that we’ve reached the limit of what’s possible with diesel and gasoline,” Musk said. “The time I think has come to move to a new generation of technology.”

Musk was speaking at a press conference in Belgium, and whilst Tesla currently manufactures its cars in California he spoke of their desire to expand:

“There’s no question that we need to do local production in Europe, both of cars and battery packs,” Musk said on Friday. “At some point, maybe sometime next year or so, we’ll start investigating potential locations and certainly this region will be one of the places to look.”

Something tells me he won’t be looking at doing any business in this neck of the woods just yet. Don’t be shy Elon, if everyone promises to not bully you is there any chance we could turn that frown upside down?
