Damn, even the famous get caught. Silly girl.

On Sunday, a South African actress was caught bringing drugs into the country from Abu Dhabi. Estimated to be about R4.6 million, she was detained at OR International Airport. Apparently, she has starred in both Isidingo and Scandal. Hmmm.

In her bag was around 15.4kg of ephedrine which is a pharmaceutical used in the manufacture of crystal meth, or in other words, tik.

The passenger, who was proceeding through the ‘Nothing to declare channel/green channel’, was stopped by customs officials for her bags to be scanned.

Upon further investigation and searching of the bag, officials discovered 15 parcels wrapped in carbon/foil-like material hidden in the luggage. Immediate tests conducted by Sars officials confirmed that the suspected substance was ephedrine.

The narcotics and passenger, identified as a South African actress, were detained and subsequently handed over to South African Police Service organised crime for further investigation.
