It seems that incidents of aggression outside nightclubs is something that’s completely uncontrollable and goes unnoticed until someone dies or ends up in hospital. But incidents of both bouncer and patron-to-patron aggression are becoming a regular occurrence in the news.
Too often are punches thrown just because. So when incidents like this make the news, one can just imagine what went down for the aggression to hit such a high level of violence. The amount of steroids and protein shakes that float around the 16-25 year old group of males these days is actually kind of disgusting and makes for aggressive, egotistical Chinas.
The most recent incident involves Shane Boruchowitz, who, at the age of 23, died in his brother’s arms after a scuffle with bouncers outside a club in Pretoria.
Apparently, Shane and his brother had become embroiled in a scuffle with two other men outside the club after accidentally bumping into them. You see how petty that is? – and it happens all the time.
Then, two bouncers, allegedly from Ty’s nightclub, ran out and got involved. But their involvement went a little too far when one of them pulled out a knife and stabbed Shane. Twice.
Fearing his life, Shane’s brother ran into the parking lot and hid under a car and phoned his father as the same knife-wielding bouncer chased him.
Shortly after returning to his brother’s side, Shane died in his brother’s arms. Shane died from the impact of his head hitting the ground when he fell down.
The owner of the club, Jannie Oosthuizen, was shocked at the murder.
This is not acceptable. We have always prided ourselves on the safety of our patrons.
