Whether this reminds you of the Cold War or a scene out of a James Bond film, the exchanging of two spies on the bridge at the border of Russia and Estonia is a welcome sign of peace in light of heightened tensions between the two countries
It’s actually so deep to watch. Check Sky News’ report here.
As representatives and prisoners advance from either side of the bridge, the two groups meet in the middle, exchange papers, and proceed with the designated swap.
It all began when Estonia accused the Russians of kidnapping Eston Kohver in Estonia and taking him across the border. The case fuelled tension between the two countries.
After long, long negotiations, it was decided that Eston would be swapped for Aleksei Dressen, who was imprisoned in Estonia in 2012 on charges of spying for Moscow.
