I would like to apologise on behalf of all rugby fans to all non-rugby fans for what is about to occur. This may well be a six-week period where deep and meaningful conversation is limited, replaced by grunts of ‘yes’ and ‘no’ whilst we shout at the telly for no apparent reason.
Now that we have cleared up that potentially troublesome problem we turn our attention to where exactly us rugby lovers should congregate to watch the Rugby World Cup games. You don’t want to be that person who sits at home during the Bok games you see, these things are best enjoyed whilst being swept up in the mob mentality that goes with watching the Boks.
If you’re looking for somewhere with lekker gees then look no further than HQ, all the games screened live in HD – including Friday’s opener between the Poms and Fiji. Then we can look forward to the Boks versus Japan on Saturday (19th September), a game where we will get a good idea what Heyneke and the boys have in store for us.
The 26th will see the Boks take on the physicality of the Samoans, a game that has always been a feisty affair in previous tournaments.
Don’t forget that if you’re a fan of steaks Mondays aren’t a bad time to stop by either, the cracking two-for-one special proving a firm favourite amongst the city’s steak lovers.
Go on, head over to HQ and get swept up in the World Cup fever – after all, if you can’t beat them join them…
