While SA’s famous real estate grannies are still patting themselves on the back for having an online inventory (for the last decade), we found these guys doing things a little differently.
Remember how long it took the ‘big name’ real estate agencies to have their newspaper inventory also appearing on their website? That was great – but at the end of the day it was very necessary and obvious. And you still don’t hear the end of it.
“THE AGENCY OF THE FUTURE”, they proclaim.
Some of them are farting around with Twitter (slow clap) and yet I can count on my one finger the amount of top real estate agencies with Instagram accounts – surely the greatest modern tech medium to sell houses with?
Having an account is one thing, but what you do with it is something completely different. The one dinosaur I did find with an account had pictures of ‘For Sale’ signs. Wow. They even had a picture of a view from a house, without mentioning where the house was or how I could find out more. Dearie me.
Obviously none of them had any video.
That would be a step too far.
But then you get Tyson Properties, who have cruised onto the Atlantic Seaboard, after dominating sales in Durban. These guys are investing money in high-quality visual productions which not only sell high-end properties, but they look AWESOME in your Instagram feed.
I started following them (@tysonprop_cpt) and already they’ve uploaded this killer Instagram video of a 50 bar pad in Camps Bay.
Check out the Instagram video below.
Now THAT’S how you market property in 2015!
Good luck to the other agencies and their ‘social media teams.’ You’re going to need a bit more than a ‘Twitter strat session’ to deal with this.
