What do you do when your new fleet of planes have an extra 6m? You hit up your most frequent first-class passenger fliers for detailed feedback on the features they would like to see incorporated into the new eight-seater first class option. The British Airways’ 787-9 Dreamliner services commence on 25 October and the new aircraft will fly from London Heathrow to Delhi at the price of around R68 000 return. Casual.
This is what the passengers will have the luxury of enjoying – check the video for visuals:
- A smartphone-like handset to control in-flight entertainment and the position of the seat.
- The integrated handset will provide passengers with a second display screen so they can watch two things at once.
- Controls will allow greater flexibility in adjusting the headrest and lumber support of the seat.
- Additional storage spaces.
- Jackets and coats can be stored directly by passengers’ seats.
- A mirror has been fitted to a personal locker for grooming.
- Seats are finished in diamond-patterned grey leather, aluminium elements are embedded into each unit and subtle golden flourishes are enhanced by soft lighting.
- Advanced pressurisation technology means air within the cabin retains a greater degree of humidity than on board other aircraft.
So, who wants to take me with them on their next trip?
