When you think rap historian you probably don’t think of Jimmy Fallon, host of the immensely popular The Tonight Show. To be honest you probably don’t think of Justin Timberlake either, even if he has come a long way since the days of ‘N Sync and Britney Spears.
Well the duo have just released their sixth ‘History of Rap’ instalment and this one is off the hizzle. Plenty of familiar old school favourites in the mix, with this below from TIME:
The pair started strong with R. Kelly’s and Jay Z’s hit “Fiesta” and went straight into LL Cool J’s “Rock the Bells.” Visiting some classics of the genre, Fallon did a convincing impersonation of Slick Rick’s yawn rhymes in “La Di Da Di” and went all out for “Straight Outta Compton” by N.W.A. Newer acts were welcomed, too, as Timberlake covered “My Way” by Fetty Wap and Fallon dug deep for “Bugatti” by Ace Hood.
They also both avoided vomiting mom’s spaghetti on their sweaters, word gents.
