Ferris Bueller may have inspired a generation of teenagers to skip school and head out on a joy ride around town, although the two five-year-olds who tunnelled out of kindergarten may be a little too young to have Matthew Broderick’s character in mind.
The two Russian laaities, using nothing more than spades, managed to escape the grounds and headed off to buy a Jaguar sports car. Here’s Yahoo:
The two boys disappeared as their group took part in a supervised walk in the grounds of the kindergarten in the city of Magnitogorsk in the Urals region…
After reaching freedom, the boys walked two kilometres to a car showroom selling luxury cars.
A female driver noticed the unaccompanied children and asked them what they were doing. They told her they had come from their kindergarten to buy a Jaguar but did not have any money.
She put them in her car and drove them to a police station.
This was not a spur of the moment thing either, the kids having plotted their daring escape for several days. They had gradually dug a hole under the fence using spades they found in the sand pit, their absence only noted after half an hour missing.
The supervisor in charge has now been fired. We’re sure these kids will return to the kindergarten as heroes, anyone who can buck authority at such a young age may have an interesting future ahead.
