Oh dear. I’m not too sure about how this child is going to be brought up if it’s already causing so much heartbreak and admin.

Jennifer Cramblett is a white lady who went to a sperm bank so she could have a child. When she gave birth, the babe was of a darker shade – she had been given the sperm of an African American man. So, she sued the Midwest Sperm Bank.

The sperm bank initially refunded her and her partner, but Jennifer was not happy. She sued them for “wrongful birth and breach of warranty, citing emotional and economic losses she has suffered.” Hilarious.

Jennifer explained that raising a mixed-race daughter was causing undue stress and pain for the family – and was asking for about R700 000,00.

But on Thursday, a judge decided that Jenny’s suit had no merit. Haha.

“Attorneys for the sperm bank had argued that “wrongful birth” suits typically apply to cases where the child is born with a birth defect that doctors should have warned parents about; in this case, the child was healthy. Cramblett had also sought damages for a “breach of warranty.” The judge rejected both claims but said that Cramblett could refile the suit as a “negligence claim…”

She must have done something real bad for karma to hit her back so hard.
