When you’re one of the world’s most wanted men you probably don’t want your sons tweeting out pictures of you. That’s just common sense, we’re not thinking outside the box or being wacky.
If they are social media addicts and insist on tweeting out a picture here and there, perhaps to taunt law enforcement agencies, then you really should insist that they exercise some basic common sense.
It appears the son of El Chapo (Joaquín Archivaldo Guzman Loera if you’re into full names), the escaped Mexican druglord, has had himself a shocker after he tweeted a picture with the phone’s location turned on. Below from Bossip:
A post to an account believed to belong to El Chapo’s son, Alfredo Guzman, includes a photo of the 29-year-old flanked by two unidentified men whose faces are obscured by emoticons. The mustachioed man sitting to Alfredo’s right at a restaurant resembles the kingpin.
The post says: “Satisfied here, you already know with whom.”
The tweet’s location shows Costa Rica.
Now some have speculated that perhaps the tag was left on to mislead authorities, throwing them off course and sending them on a wild goose chase down south. What is clear is that Alfredo Guzman doesn’t seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed:
“One of the most intelligent traffickers has been Chapo,” said Phil Jordan, who spent more than 30 years with the DEA. “His son is not the brightest star on the Christmas tree. The best recorded intelligence on the son is that he doesn’t have his father’s intelligence. But I caution this could be a diversion to throw off authorities.”
Stroke of genius or another in a long line of mishaps by Guzman – only time will tell, but for now perhaps someone should check his tweets before they are posted for the world to see.
