Right, you’re going to need to pay attention here because, much like the movie, this one has a few twists and turns along the way.
A 38-year-old man called Matthew Muller was charged with the kidnapping of 29-year-old Denise Huskins back in March. Two days after the kidnapping Huskins returned to her home town of Huntington Beach, mere hours before the ransom for her return was due.
In the wake of this police announced that the kidnapping had been a hoax, that the Harvard-educated attorney Muller had never taken part and Huskins had staged the whole thing.
Now the FBI say they are in possession of a recording in which Muller admits to the kidnappings, therefore vindicating Huskins’ story. Muller had been arrested for a robbery in June and was talking to a reporter in a jail house when he made the remarks. Below from the Daily Mail:
The female reporter was not allowed to record the interview and had been asked by Muller not to reveal his alleged comments about why he kidnapped Huskins.
She did report that Muller, who has previously said he has bipolar disorder, told her he felt bad for the kidnapping victim and thought she deserved an apology.
But the jail, which warns people that it records conversations with inmates, recorded the interview, including the portions that were off-the-record, Drone said.
When discussing the kidnapping, Muller said there was no gang, and it was just him, according to the FBI affidavit.
All this has left Huskins feeling rather vindicated, evident from the video below.
This ending is far more believable than the actual Gone Girl, is Ben Affleck really sweeping all that crazy under the carpet because his wife got pregnant?
