Oh goodness. Some people just don’t know how to treat a, ummm, lady. I only say ‘ummm’ because we’re talking about Nicki Minaj’s wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas.
About two weeks ago, 4 August, the museum revealed the wax figure of Nicki on all fours to honour the year anniversary of her record-smashing ‘Anaconda’ music video. This made her the first ever female rapper honoured in wax.
Miss Minaj was honoured.
However, the gracious gesture by the museum backfired when they decided to place Nicki on all fours in a very seductive pose – with her derriere in a very compromising position. And, boys being boys (there was even a girl), there were a few questionable poses that ended up on Twitter and Instagram.
The very very very opinionated Azaelia Banks predicted on Twitter that things wouldn’t go too well for the wax figure:
And her prediction was obviously correct. The day the statue was revealed also saw this:
And the very unimpressed Nicki responded:
To no avail, her response fell upon deaf ears as more disrespectful images popped up on social media:
But the worst:
Madame Tussauds have done their best to ease out the situation, and will be placing extra staff around the statue to protect its, umm, dignity.
