When I started 2oceansvibe 13 years ago, I didn’t have a plan. I didn’t know I would one-day have half a million readers every month and sponsors and a successful business. But I knew something would come of it. As it ‘bizarrely’ always does..
I was watching that video that did the rounds last week (here), of the guy in the UK who was filmed keying an Aston Martin. The article I linked to (here) asked the question, ‘WHY?’ I also wondered what made him do it. He was and clearly is a very angry person. He is jealous of the person who drives the Aston Martin and he is angry that he doesn’t have the same success as the chap who drives the Aston Martin. But instead of using this visual wealth assault as inspiration, our man decides to cause harm to the person that owns the car. He wants to upset that person, for no reason other than the fact that the guy is successful. He doesn’t think it’s ‘fair.’
I think you will find this is a trend in this guy’s life. Look, we all did some naughty shit in our lives and we’ve learnt a lot from our mistakes. This fellow is no longer a kid and might even be a father, if the baby pram he was pushing belonged to him. So he has been around the block, as it were – and yet he’s still sending out negative energy wherever he goes. This only makes matters worse because – bizarrely (to him) – bad shit keeps coming his way.
And he keeps keying cars.
And bad things keep happening.
Can you see where I’m going here?
I’ll be the first to tell you that 2oceansvibe wasn’t a calculated plan and it was largely good luck and good timing. In fact, you will find a LOT of successful people referring to good timing and, most often, good luck.
I mentioned before that we’ve all done “some naughty shit” in our lives and I must stress that I have been VERY naughty before. But I noticed that bad shit would happen back to me. Or rather, I would keep having bad ‘luck’. There was a definite direct correlation between my misdemeanors and this annoying ‘bad luck’. Now I am telling you right now for an absolute fact – it’s not about luck. It’s about energy and it’s about the universe. The words “why is this happening to me” are banned in my home and there’s a reason for it.
There’s an ongoing joke here in the office that the only reason I buy lottery tickets every week (on that note did you see this week’s Powerball is sitting on R1 billion – we all bought tickets – get yours here) is to maintain my lucky streak in life, rather than to win the actual lottery.
Nothing could be closer to the truth. Just like regular exercise is key to staying sharp and becoming a success, I believe the ability to dream and the process and physical act of buying a ticket for that little piece of ‘what if’, sends a powerful message to the universe, making it clear that you are ‘open’ to good luck. In a nutshell, you’re willing to give luck a chance.
Have you noticed how many people disagree with something you’re positive about, by saying they are a ‘realist’?
“I’m a realist – everything in this country is going to end in tears”.
Don’t you find that odd? They’re basically saying that reality and real life is ALWAYS shit – for a fact.
No one ever says, “I’m a realist, I think things will go well in South Africa”.
Are you with me? Why is ‘realist’ never used in the positive?
Maybe everyone is just a watered down version of our friend scratching the Aston Martin? Things just keep going wrong. Everything is shit. And my favourite are the people who won’t buy lottery tickets because they’re “never going to win.”
Aaah, BOO HOO! You sad little twat.
That’s where you’ve got it wrong, pal. I’ll keep buying so that I continue to enjoy all these “weird” good things that happen to me.
Enjoy zero dreams on Friday night before Saturday’s big draw.
To the REAL realists out there who bought tickets, I would say good luck, but you’ve already got plenty 😉
