Despite what you may think this is not the actual footage from Pat Lambie’s professional rugby début, this is some young kid in ‘Stralia mate.
The youngster was attending a rugby league legends charity game between New South Wales and Queensland when he went walkabouts, although there is definitely a happy ending to this one. Here’s Mozaaf:
The boy got separated from his mother and managed to make his way onto the pitch.
He was spotted by one of the New South Wales players, who decided to get him involved in the game.
He handed the boy the ball and encouraged him to run the length of the pitch for a try.
The other players got involved too, carefully “tackling” him as he ran happily down the field, before being carried the last few yards over the tryline.
No word on whether Heyneke Meyer has been taking tips on defence from the video above, although we can almost guarantee that Bismarck would have put in a big hit and brought proceedings to a halt.
