Let this be a warning to all hunters out there – to avoid a social media backlash you might want to pull those photos of you next to the animal you murdered. You’ll want to pay special attention to any photos featuring your kids posing with them as well, people will really get antsy about that.
All this after hunter Allen Tarpley has been bombarded on social media for photos that show his seven- and nine-year old kids posing with lions they gunned down. Not that they are new, post Walter Palmer I think folks are exercising a little more caution, but he is under fire nonetheless. Let’s see these pics then with Huffington Post reporting below:
The images were posted in July of last year…They were found recently by the anti-hunting organization We Will Not Be Silenced About Hunters, which shared them on social media…
“Please don’t hate on the child, pity him,” the group said. “He is being raised this way”…
“The fact a child can casually lean against the corpse of this animal and play with technology is chilling,” a spokeswoman for the group [said].
It really is, although perhaps the most chilling bit is how addicted that little shite is to his tablet. That’s probably because Angry Birds presents more of a challenge that a canned lion hunt, just a thought.
Dad fired back with these shots:
Tarpley deleted the images and deleted his Twitter account, but defended the hunt…saying critics “don’t understand it.”
“They don’t care about human beings and babies being slaughtered and body parts being sold for Planned Parenthood but they care about one animal,” he [said]. “There was no media hype about Planned Parenthood selling baby parts but one lion gets killed and everyone goes crazy.”
He also said that his family has given up hunting as they can no longer afford it.
Eish, the struggle is real, should have taken up dentistry if you wanted to splash the cash on hunting the big bad beasts of Africa my friend.
