Always pushing the boundaries, last year the transport app launched a new function, UberEATS. But now, Uber just got serious.
Partnering with various restaurants in a selection of cities in the states, a selection of meals are available daily, delivering to your door within a few minutes. An idea that was launched in Los Angeles and spread to New York City, Toronto, Austin, Chicago, and Barcelona, you can now find the food ordering service in Miami, Nashville, San Diego, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Dallas, Seattle, and Houston (according to Uber’s job listings).
At first, the option was placed at the bottom along with the other services that Uber offers:
But in a new layout update, the service has taken to dividing the opening option into either taxi services or the new food delivery service.
The new interface is available in UberEats cities. The layout separates RIDES from EATS and creates a more seamless, intuitive experience across services. We are always experimenting to find new, creative ways to make the Uber app more user friendly.
The prediction is that UberEATS – now a service that is a part of that actual Uber app, will eventually become a standalone, signalling food delivery as Uber’s second major service after transport.
