It’s pretty difficult to get away with a bombing these days, just ask the guys who thought it a good idea to plant a few near the finish line at the Boston Marathon.
With the world’s attention turned towards Bangkok it was only a matter of time until the cretin who planted a bomb in the Erawan Hindu shrine was nabbed. For the time being some are playing it coy and naming him only as a suspect, although the evidence is pretty damning. Here’s BBC with more:
The footage, from a CCTV camera, shows a man in a yellow shirt leaving a backpack in the Erawan Hindu shrine…
he is shown carefully and deliberately removing his backpack inside the shrine, getting up without it and immediately leaving the scene.
The spot where he was sitting is precisely where the bomb went off a few minutes later, says the BBC’s Jonathan Head in Bangkok.
“There is a suspect… we are looking for this guy,” Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha told reporters.
“The yellow shirt guy is not just the suspect. He is the bomber,” police spokesman Lt Gen Prawut Thavornsiri [said].
The man hunt has begun. For what it’s worth fans of the colour yellow may want to adjust their wardrobe suitably over the coming days, walking the streets of Bangkok clad in yellow may be somewhat risky.
