Sex, Drugs, Rock ‘n Roll.
From Jim Morrison to Slash, the epicness of their lives was something that I definitely wanted to be a part of of when I was growing up. Now, I prefer to dabble as I come to a full realisation of what that lifestyle really entails – burns and crashes and deaths at the age of 27.
But now, thanks to a couple of great men, we can all kinda get an idea, albeit through our TV screens.
Mick Jagger (The Rolling Stones), Martin Scorsese (The Wolf of Wall Street) and Terence Winter (Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire & The Wolf of Wall Street) have teamed up to produce what HBO rates as their next big hit, Vinyl.
A ten-episode drama series set in 1970s New York, the series stars Bobby Cannavale, Olivia Wilde, and Ray Romano, as well as Mick’s son James, who plays a character similar to his father. It follows the life of a troubled record label president as he navigates the “sex- and drug-addled music business at the dawn of punk, disco, and hip-hop”. It’s set to be released in 2016.
Let’s just hope it doesn’t start putting ideas in people’s heads. Oh wait – have you seen the youth of today?!
