The furore over Cecil’s slaying shows no signs of abating. And while Zimbabwe’s reaction is one of casual nonchalance, things are getting pretty feisty across the pond.

A crowd of protesters have set up camp outside Walter Palmer’s dental surgery, forcing him to close his doors. As the Telegraph reports:

During the protest, demonstrators held signs reading “Killer” and “I am Cecil” — the name of the slain lion as members of the crowd chanted, “Justice for Cecil.”

Signs also were taped on Palmer’s office door, including “ROT IN HELL” and “PALMER There’s a deep cavity waiting for you!”

I have no problem with Palmer becoming a pariah. And, with the White House petition for his extradition passing the required 100k signatures as of this morning, (for more on this click HERE), this seems inevitable.

But there seems to be a tunnel vision with him at the end of it, and while he deserves to be punished for his part in Cecil’s demise, we should keep sight of the fact that he is merely a symptom of a much bigger illness.
