If you’re planning a spot of criminal activity this weekend, best head on down to Assen, near Pretoria.
The police presence there seems to be a tad thin on the ground, as one local resident discovered when he paid the police station a visit.
He’d apparently found a random man wandering around, and when he took him down to the feds he realised the joint was completely empty, as this video shows.
This from ENCA:
Acting station commander, Warrant Officer David Molotlhanyi, said the police station has no manpower.
“There are only four guys per shift. Two police guards are on patrol while the other two run the station’s administration,” he said.
“When the person filming the video footage came into the station, one officer was in the bathroom and the other was in the kitchen preparing food for prisoners.”
It’s a sterling defence, although why no-one thought to lock the front door before going for an away game is unclear.
