If there isn’t an emoticon for ‘get your bitch claws out’ it needs to be invented at once, this Twitter battle could make good use of it.
Eva Longoria, famous for her role in Desperate Housewives and, um, the re-runs of Desperate Housewives has been in a long-running battle with a journalist from the Sydney Morning Herald. Jenna Clarke had some rather disparaging things to say about Longoria and her ambassadorial role with Specsavers in a column over the weekend, the highlights below from Mashable:
[She called] Longoria “shameless,” due to the supposed fact Longoria doesn’t wear spectacles and should not be “selling out” by promoting Specsavers. For an extra dose of spite, she also said Desperate Housewives is for old people.
“We had Eva Longoria, the star of Desperate Housewives (don’t remember it? Ask your nan about how popular it was like a decade ago) in town representing a budget eyewear chain, but according to photographers that have been snapping her for close to 15 years — she doesn’t wear spectacles,” she wrote.
Eva wasn’t taking this lying down, tweeting a lengthy response and lambasting what she called ‘lazy journalist research’.
She wasn’t quite done either. After Clarke tweeted that she was unhappy Longoria had turned her seven million followers on Twitter against her, the actress fired back again, and again…
She has yet to receive that apology but I think we can give this one to Eva. You can see her in Desperate Housewives on most channels that are too cheap to pay for decent entertainment.
