Last week someone sent in a pic of a spicy character spotted at the Corner Bakery to win R1,000. But the person in the photo had 24 hours to get in touch with us and claim the R1,000 for himself. Guess what just happened..

If you’re confused about what’s going on – read below. For the rest of you, this is how it played out.

On Friday we posted Claire’s photo of a spicy character she spotted at the Engen Corner Bakery in Gardens. If that person did not contact us within 24 hours (less the weekend) then she would win R1,000. Sadly for her, one times Stuart Z sent in this MENTAL ‘proof of life’ to claim the grand.

Whilst Stu’s hair was more than enough proof, the shoes are significant, as this avoids someone pulling photos off Facebook and the like.

Our forensics team super-enhanced the original entry and it looks like we have a match.

REMEMBER: Our Corner Bakery Competition is not limited to the Engen garage in Gardens

THIS IS HOW THE COMPETITION WORKS

Firstly, you know what Corner Bakery is, right? It’s only the biggest and most yummy chain of bakeries in Engen QuickShops across South Africa. And they don’t only make pies, they also absolutely nail burgers, donuts, muffins, other pastries and the Equatorial Coffee is to die for. Anyone who has visited the Engen Garage in Gardens, Cape Town, will know ALL about it.

So, to win the R1,000, do the following.

1. Find a Corner Bakery at an Engen QuickShop near you (there are tons all over the country) – check out their store locator map here.
2. Find someone spicy ordering or eating. This might take a few minutes so it would be best for you to go in the morning for a coffee fix or near lunch to smash a pie while you wait. We’ve posted some deals below to help your planning.
3. Take a picture of that spicy someone at the Corner Bakery and email the pic to editor@2oceansvibe.com
4. Every week we will publish the best picture received from you, our beautiful readers.
5. If the person in the pic doesn’t contact us within 24 hours, then you get a Mastercard card loaded with R1,000
6. If they DO get in touch with us with proof that they are the person in the pic then THEY get the money and you get sweet nothing. Here’s an example of proof of life from a previous competition we did.

Imagine that – a competition that requires you to act like a private eye, eat pies, drink coffee and win cash. Surely it doesn’t get better than that.

This may well be the best competition in the world. Ever.
