Isn’t it funny how sometimes, when one most needs it, you can find an extra couple of hundred thousand rand lying around?
The lawyers for alleged wife-killer and mummy’s boy Christopher Panayiotou have said that, if his bail application in Grahamstown is successful, he is able and willing to pay up to R200 000. This is something of an about-turn on from last month’s bail application in Port Elizabeth, Panayiotou then claiming he could only afford a bail of R50 000.
Advocate Mike Hellens, the man who represents Christopher, says that his client is also willing to abide by strict bail conditions. These include paying out of his own pocket for a personal security guard to verify his whereabouts at any given time.
I don’t disagree with that, although the personal security guard should be in a prison and his whereabouts should be a tiny cell.
Jayde’s sister Toni Inggs has reiterated her family’s stance that Christoper is guilty with this below from EWN:
“If Chris was innocent at all he would have turned around and say mom, dad, like how he referred to my parents, please believe me I didn’t do this.”
Inggs has started a ‘Justice for Jayde’ campaign on Facebook.
“I want justice for my sister and I strongly believe it involves everybody. It’s never a reality until it happens to somebody you know.”
Proceedings in the bail application are still under way and we’ll let you know as the decision is handed down.
