I’m no fan of the Spiderman movies (take your pick, they just keep on churning them out) but it is true that with great power comes great responsibility. Whoever mounted a semi-automatic gun to a drone would do well to remember that, given the fact that technology like this falling into the wrong hands could end very, very badly.
The above video shows a 27-inch (69 cm) handgun firing a gun in a wooded area, and certainly offers a rather disturbing look into how a simple drone could be used for nefarious means. Here’s hoping whoever cooked up this idea is more concerned with shooting tree stumps than anything more sinister.
Let’s maybe stick to using the humble drone for less risky practices like taking award-winning photos.
