On a scale of one to Miss Teen South Carolina, this year’s Miss USA saw a couple of contestant gaffes that will make these unlucky ladies cringe for years to come.
Olivia Jordan might remember the night with much fondness having taken top honours, but for Miss Rhode Island and Miss Nevada some tough times lie ahead. We’ll start with Rhode Island’s finest, tripped up when trying to answer a question about political correctness. Just smile and wave girl, smile and wave.

Next up was Miss Nevada, tasked with the difficult task of trying to string two coherent sentences together regarding potential solutions to racism. How did she do? Utter. Bloody. Shite.
It can’t be easy standing up there in the glare of the spotlights but these weren’t exactly the most gruelling questions you’ll ever come across. I’m sure unleashing the pearly whites and batting one’s eyelashes will work in certain situations, but they can’t mask a complete inability to articulate even the simplest of ideas.
