We knew he couldn’t stay away from the limelight for too long and, and after watching a bearded David Letterman tear Donald Trump apart, we’re glad he didn’t.

Letterman appeared with friends Steve Martin and Martin Short on their road show called “A Very Stupid Conversation”, rehashing his popular ‘Top 10’ segment and dedicating said list to mocking the man grabbing headlines across the world.

You’re going to want to skip through to the 4:30 mark in the above video to hear him rattle off the list, the former talk-show giant chastising Trump’s timing. Below from Mashable:

Speaking to the audience, Letterman bemoaned missing out on a Trump presidential run: “I was content. And then a couple of days ago, Donald Trump said he was running for president. I have made the biggest mistake of my life.”

Don’t worry Dave, we will always have time for people who take pot shots at Donald – whether or not they host a late-night show of their own.

This isn’t the first time he has taken the property mogul to the cleaners, having previously called him out from behind his desk.

I suppose when you throw your name into the presidential mix you have to accept criticism will come, but I doubt Trump would have expected to be attacked with as much vigour as his detractors are showing.

David Letterman takes this one, of that there is no doubt.
