In amongst all the dressing up and role-playing at San Diego’s Comic-Con 2015 attendees were treated to Jennifer Lawrence doing what she does best – charming the pants off of audiences with her piss-take on what it means to be one of Hollywood’s golden girls.
Lawrence has become both a fan and media favourite over the years for her refusal to buy into the notion that film stars are better than you and I, laughing off much of the praise thrown her direction with uncomfortable giggles and witty one-liners. She was at it again during a panel to promote her movie The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2. The Verge reports:
The Jennifer Lawrence Charming Awkwardness Machine was easily the highlight — unlike most actresses who easily spout platitudes about how great a journey their film was, Lawrence simply could not seem to get the words out. She tried, but she fumbled. Otherwise she seemed distracted by literally anything.
But when she was on, she was on. “Nothing about me and Katniss is similar, because she’s brave and I’m … an actress,” she said at one point, easily the line of the panel.
The panel also revealed the first glimpse into what fans can expect during the second instalment of the franchise, a teaser which can be seen up top.
Will you watch it? I suppose anything with Jennifer in is worth a look, and on the plus side it doesn’t contain any vampires.
