Be warned – there is no shortage of breasts on display in the this music video. If that’s not your cup of tea tread carefully.
Rihanna has never minded a bit of controversy but her latest music video, Bitch Better Have My Money, is some next-level stuff. You’ll need a bit of background information in order to fully grasp why the video has been labelled a revenge fantasy so over to the Daily Beast:
Back in 2012, RiRi filed a lawsuit against her former accountant Peter Gounis. Rihanna alleged that his unsound financial advice led her to lose $9 million in cash in 2009 alone. After Gounis advised her to buy a $7.5 million home, Rihanna was left “effectively bankrupt.” RiRi eventually won a multimillion-dollar settlement from Gounis’s firm.
Right, back to the music video then. No one is going to accuse Rihanna of subtlety as the plot revolves around the kidnapping of her accountant’s wife, ostensible demanding a ransom for her return but eventually revelling in exacting violent retribution on the couple.
It seems she isn’t the forgive and forget type then, although if someone took me for $9 million in one year I wouldn’t wish them a happy ending either. Perhaps she would be best advised to go with the tried and trusted, her next music video would probably be far less violent.
