I don’t think anyone is under the impression that a South African prison is a pleasant place to sit whilst you await trial, especially when your case has been in the national spotlight and your name dragged through the mud.
It comes as something of a surprise then that Sizwezakhe “Sizwe” Vumazonke appears active on Facebook, he being the man accused of pulling the trigger in the brutal murder of Jayde Panayiotou back in April. The man alleged to have acted on behalf of mummy’s boy Christopher appears to have access to his social media account with some posts appearing over the weekend. Here’s TimesLive:
On Saturday‚ Ayanda Tengo posted on his Facebook wall: “No‚ no‚ my tummy is sore thanks to you for making me laugh so much. You’re crazy‚ there’s just nothing you don’t know.”
Vumazonke‚ or someone with access to his Facebook account‚ then responds: “No no‚ what have I done? Don’t laugh too much your tummy will fall [sic].”
Phindiwe Ngumbela then says: “I can imagine Sizwe making you laugh so much.”
The chat‚ in Xhosa‚ ends with Tengo saying what a good friend Vumazonke is and how he always gets her to smile.
Vumazonke’s lawyer refused to comment on the activity and Correctional Services officials have also yet to say anything on the matter.
I would imagine when you’re awaiting trial for such a heinous crime you would want to steer clear of drumming up further controversy. Think before you post Sizwe, something that goes for most of us I guess.
