Marathons. oysters, whale watching – these are just some of the things you can enjoy in Knysna, one of South Africa’s favourite holiday destinations.
If you’re a tik fiend and are planning on popping in this weekend, however, you would have timed your visit very poorly. A man and a woman have been arrested with drugs estimated to have a street value of around R315 000, with the pair due to appear in court today on charges of dealing drugs. TimesLive has more:
“On Wednesday‚ at about 14:30‚ police acted on information received from a member of the public. Surveillance was held during which a man and woman were noticed. The two suspects were searched during which nine plastic bags containing Tik with an estimated street value of R270‚000 were found in their possession.
“Thirty pieces of cocaine‚ also known as half-moon rocks‚ with an estimated street value of R45‚000 were found in two boxes inside a travel bag‚” Captain Bernadine Steyn said.
The SAPS believe the drugs may have come from Cape Town – I’m shocked, we would never do such a thing would we?
You’ve been warned drug fiends, Knysna might not be the place to spend the upcoming weekend knocking back a few lightbulbs.
