We know that here, as in most other countries, cars get nicked every day. Thieves are getting creative (load shedding anyone?), maybe it’s time for car owners to use some brain juice of their own?
Cue this guy in the UK who, rather than going the conventional route and kitting his new wheels out with all the security features, chose to turn his car into a set of wheels no one would want to drive away in. Over to Lost At E Minor:
…the man covered his top-of-the-line 2014 Volkswagen T5 Sportline with full-body decals featuring rust stains and cracked fenders. The hideous façade would not only turn away would-be thieves, but also anyone looking to borrow his car. Genius!
‘It goes without saying the van stands out in a crowd and our customer had great pleasure in telling us later that it only took 3 days for the police to pull him over to ask what was going on with all the rust’, said [vinyl wrap shop] Clyde Wraps.
Well played señor, although I imagine your car would still find a way to grow legs and disappear given enough time around these shores.
Thanks Tara
