Radovan Krejcir and Oscar Pistorius’ bromance was a headline-grabbing story back in March, the two filmed enjoying a kickabout in prison and Krejcir even going as far as saying he missed Oscar when the two were separated in prison.
Now the Czech fugitive is back in the news after a film producer, Adam Dvorak, chronicled Krejcir’s life in a two-part feature film that tells the story of a businessman who grew to become a high-powered and much-feared gangster. IOL reports:
The first part of the feature film, titled Gangster Ka, documents the life of a character named Radim Kraviec (played by Hynek Cermák) who is a successful businessman in the Czech Republic.
However, Kraviec gets involved in the underworld and becomes a hardened gangster who is wanted by police.
The second part of the film, titled “Gangster Ka-African”, looks at a new phase in Kraviec’s criminal life.
After escaping from the police, Kraviec flees to Africa where his journey to the Seychelles and eventually South Africa is documented.
The movie is said to have cost around R28 million to make, shot on location in Europe and South Africa. Dvorak cited the need for authenticity as the reason for filming on our shores, although we’re sure the favourable exchange rate and good weather would have played a role. Here’s Dvorak once more:
We are now searching for a South Africa distribution company.
I am hoping that the audiences in South Africa will get the opportunity to see the film.
I’m not exactly won over but if this movie sounds like your cup of tea you can check out the trailer below.
