Sometimes we are all guilty of overthinking and overcomplicating the world around us. Think about that person in front of you ordering coffee this morning – did they really need an extra hot large double chocolate chip frappe with extra cream on the side or are they just making life hard for themselves and those around them?
When it comes to shoes we sometimes feel the same – sure those kicks look pretty fly but sometimes less is more and less is better. The minimalistic approach is something that works well, especially with certain colour schemes, and the folks at PUMA have really nailed it with their new Trinomic DKNSTRKT pack.
The DKNSTRKT Blaze of Glory takes full advantage of the richness of the supple nubuck leather used on the upper, by applying subtle, classic, colourways – triple black and cognac brown.
The style is finished with off-white midsole, a stark contrast to its rich hues. The DKNSTRKT XS850 uses the same colour palette, but decked in a perforated leather upper.
Refined details incorporated in each style range from intricate stitching to the scoring on the heel and both feature premium leather embossed branding on the tongue.
The ‘90s saw both the XS850 and the Blaze of Glory shoot to fame through their distinctive use of revolutionary PUMA Trinomic technology. With its honeycomb cell cushioning the XS850 rapidly spread from the track to the streets, reinventing athletic and street footwear.
Where has all this reinvention led them? To the very top of the sportswear brand pile, boasting heavyweights such as Usain Bolt and collaborating with fashion icons like Alexander McQueen.
So where can you get your hands on these beauties and what will they set you back? The DKNSTRKT Blaze of Glory retails for R1 999 and the DKNSTRKT XS850 for R2 499 at Shelflife Stores and PUMA SELECT stores in Bree Street, Cape Town and in Braamfontein, Johannesburg from 26 June 2015.
