Loveable rogue Johnny Depp has been in the news for all the wrong reasons of late, what with Barnaby Joyce threatening to kill his dogs unless they were removed from Australian soil. Thankfully Pistol and Boo were flown to safety on a private jet and sanity prevailed, although we doubt Depp will be returning to the land Down Under any time soon.
But before we feel too sorry for the man who made mountains of money from playing a dirty pirate, let’s remember the fact that he is selling his St. Tropez villa for £16,5 million, a cool R318 million for us mere mortals. The holiday home was apparently a labour of love for Depp who decorated much of the estate himself during his fourteen-year relationship with French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis.
OK shut up Kiernan, let’s have a look around the place then shall we? The pictures below courtesy of the Telegraph:
The buyer will also get the Hollywood actor’s furniture, books, artworks and other personal belongings included in the sale. One room in the main house even has a “Pirates of the Caribbean” theme, with skulls and brightly coloured scarves adorning the walls and furnishings…
The holiday home includes a church that the actor converted into a guest house featuring a confessional transformed into a wardrobe, a café, two swimming pools, a gym and a skate park built for Depp’s son Jack and daughter Lily-Rose.
The main building is a rambling house of about 4,300 square feet, with five bedrooms, three bathrooms and an art studio where Depp indulged in another of his passions – painting.
There are also several several guest cottages, a workshop, garage and staff quarters.
Tough life Johnny, although you still remain one of the more likeable film stars in Hollywood these days. I’m not sure I would throw down over R300 million on your old crib, considering what we have right here at home, but who knows what weird and wonderful things you might have tucked away in the corners.
