Friday brought with it the tragic news that a stowaway aboard a British Airlines plane from Cape Town to London had fallen to his death in southwest London. Questions were immediately asked as to how two stowaways, one later found on the tarmac after the plane had landed, had managed to hide in the landing gear before take-off.
Whilst Scotland Yard is now involved in the investigation, focus has shifted from how they came to be on board to how they managed to make it all the way to London. Here’s EWN:
…aviation experts are astounded at the two men’s daring journey to get to the UK.
They say it’s a miracle the 24-year-old man survived the more than 10-hour flight to London in the plane’s wheel well in temperatures that plummeted to as low as -50 degrees…
Authorities are hoping the suspect who survived will be able to provide insight into the reasons behind the drastic measure to leave South Africa.
