And now for your daily dose of the Donald, a man so ill-suited to the American presidency that his last name may as well be Trompies. In case you missed the fireworks that was Trump’s presidential announcement I implore you to watch the video (HERE) and read some more of his gems (HERE), you really will not be disappointed.
Now there was a rather impressive turnout for the real-estate mogul’s big announcement, something that immediately raised red flags and drew the attention of media outlets around the USA. The Hollywood Reporter has since found this email, sent by New York-based Extra Mile Casting to its clients, advertising for extras to beef up attendance:
We are looking to cast people for the event to wear t-shirts and carry signs and help cheer him in support of his announcement,” reads the June 12 email, obtained by The Hollywood Reporter. “We understand this is not a traditional ‘background job,’ but we believe acting comes in all forms and this is inclusive of that school of thought.
The pay was listed as $50 for less than three hours of work.
At the centre of the controversy is actor Domenico Del Giacco, who many recognised as a popular extra and background actor. He posted this photo below and has since deleted his account completely in the wake of online criticism.
So what does Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski have to say on the matter? He claims he has never heard of Extra Mile Casting, firing back with this utter shite:
Mr. Trump draws record crowds at almost every venue at which he is a featured speaker. The crowds are large, often record-setting and enthusiastic, often with standing ovations. Mr. Trump’s message is, ‘Make America great again.’
That’s it Corey, keep whipping that ‘Make America Great Again’ mantra out at any opportunity.
Below you can find the full email sent out by Extra Mile Casting, although the relevant contact details have been removed.
